Does my clinic need KPME registration?
Yes. Every private clinic and polyclinic in Karnataka, including a single-doctor clinic, must be registered under the KPME Act. The KPME portal lists clinics and polyclinics first among the establishments that must register.
The four clinic categories
| Category | Choose it if | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Consultation only | You examine, consult and prescribe; minor procedures like dressings and injections only; no observation | Rs 3,100 |
| With diagnostic support | You also have a pharmacy, sample collection, basic lab, X-ray, ultrasound or ECG on site | Rs 6,300 |
| With dispensary | Medicines are dispensed to outpatients by qualified professionals | Rs 6,300 |
| With observation | You have an observation or short-stay facility of up to 8 hours | Rs 6,300 |
Fees are as shown on the KPME portal on 2 November 2026. See all categories on the KPME fees page.
