KPME Registration for Dental Clinics

KPME for dental clinics

Dental clinics have their own KPME category, plus X-ray and biomedical waste rules that general clinics do not face.

  • Clinics, labs, dental and hospitals
  • All districts of Karnataka
  • Portal filing, documents and inspection support

KPME category for dental clinics

The KPME portal has a separate category, Dental lab or clinic, defined as places where dentists provide dental care with no inpatient facilities. The government fee shown on the portal on 2 November 2026 is Rs 6,300.

What dental clinics need for KPME

  • Each dentist’s registration with the Karnataka State Dental Council (KSDC) and qualification certificate (BDS or MDS)
  • Details of dental assistants, hygienists and other staff with their qualifications
  • Floor plan showing the dental operatory, sterilisation area and waiting area
  • Building documents and front photograph
  • Biomedical waste authorisation and handler agreement
  • Schedule of charges for consultations and dental procedures

Dental X-ray needs AERB registration

If you use an intraoral X-ray, RVG or OPG unit, the equipment must be registered with the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) through its eLORA system, separately from KPME. Plan this before installation.

Dental hospitals and dental colleges

Dental establishments with inpatient facilities do not fit the dental clinic category and are registered under the appropriate hospital level instead. Speak to us before you apply so the category is right.

More: KPME documents checklist, KPME inspection, KPME renewal.
